Rookout Acquired by Dynatrace: 4 Principles That Led Rookout to the Top

The news is out! My beloved Rookout has been acquired by Dynatrace, and I'm so proud to have been part of the journey 💜


Here are a couple of principles that led us to the top of the observability billboard. Feel free to steal them 😎


Agility


We rebooted our strategy a couple of times - when we changed the business model when COVID hit, and when things got back to normal. It allowed rapid adaptation to changing market conditions, customer feedback, and emerging opportunities, leading to quicker growth and competitive advantage


Brand consistency


No matter what we changed, we stuck to our voice and tone religiously. In text or visual content, we were always instantly recognizable - and that built trust and affinity among customers. Plus, they loved our stickers!


Events


Rookout is a lean, mean conference machine. We spoke on hundreds of stages and sponsored dozens of booths. For a top-down company, that's crucial, and yielded tons of relevant leads and meaningful relationships


Specialized PR


Last, but not least - we went for a PR service that really gets not only our tech but also our target market - developers. It's not enough to write press releases nicely; it's all about being present in industry-specific watering holes and telling a great story. Adam LaGreca has it all
